A new character and their colours….inspired by watching The House of Eliott and the wonderful clothes of the twenties….subdued yet beautiful hues.

Some new characters connected to the main five….again colour process helping to create the mood of the times for each character in 1986.

I love to journal and this journal is by Dylusions, designed by the inspirational Dyan Reaveley. Day 1 …August..1st 2023 I began to explore my characters through colour… this is a new process for me but I discovered characteristics, affinities, loves and dislikes, gifts and flaws of the five main characters in my first story. The colours also led me to settings and other characters. Day 2 will explore their appearance and presence in their world…1986.

I have begun creating story boards for my characters…my first process is to write a cloud plan…adding features…characteristics, strengths, gifts and flaws, this gave me the feeling of colour for each character. I found this a really helpful process as the colours reveal likes, dislikes, affinities and interests and link the character to a setting in the story and other characters. There are five….at the moment….main characters in story one and the photos show the colours for each one with my notes. I have found this a very creative way of building the characters.

Hi, Holly here, I have been busy planning my first story…I use storyboard ideas in a journal,and 3d models to help me create settings for scenes and characters…..this is a new adventure for me and I am going to write the story live on the blog, well it will be the first draft….so comments and feedback will be appreciated….I have got to learn about creative writing as I go….so there will be some blips along the way but every stumble will help me learn….I just have to be brave enough to push the publish button….. I am hoping that the story will evolve over time and I will write a part every week…..or more often once I get going…..thanks for sharing this new experience with me, love Holly Xx
